Regarding the charger, you say it is the "Value" charger, for this charger and the mah capacity of the batteries it should be shutting off for you at 8hrs for the 2000 and 11hrs for the 2450. Please make sure the charger is being plugged into a wall outlet only (not extension cord or surge protector) If this charger is NOT shutting off for you please contact our consumer affairs office so we may assist you on the terms of our warrantee.
Regarding the batteries, unfortunately we have not manufactured the 2000/2450 batteries in about 4yrs or so, the batteries are old and may require a few charges back to back to see if there is any life left in them. There is a life time warrantee on the chargers and limited life time warrantee on the batteries, 2 years from the date of manufacture (can be located horizontally just above the seam). I would recommend looking at our new packages which are the 2300 power plus, it will call it out right on the packaging. I do apologize for this inconvenience.
