Thank you for this great question, I would be happy to assist you. We normally say a NIMH rechargeable battery MAY last for about 4-5yrs. This will depend on the application you are using the batteries for, if you are using a high drain device, and the more you charge, that will reduce the longevity of the battery.

Question

The green light never goes off

I am a photographer and purchased a few sets of 2000 and 2450 mAh cells and two chargers. The lights on the chargers NEVER go out, even if I leave the battery charging overnight. During charging, the cells get very hot.

The cells also do not seem to hold a charge for very long.

I have not been able to rely on them.

Thank you for this great question, I would be happy to assist you. Regarding the charger, you say it is the "Value" charger, for this charger and the mah capacity of the batteries it should be shutting off for you at 8hrs for the 2000 and 11hrs for the 2450. Please make sure the charger is being plugged into a wall outlet only (not extension cord or surge protector) If this charger is NOT shutting off for you please contact our consumer affairs office so we may assist you on the terms of our warrantee.

Regarding the batteries, unfortunately we have not manufactured the 2000/2450 batteries in about 4yrs or so, the batteries are old and may require a few charges back to back to see if there is any life left in them. There is a life time warrantee on the chargers and limited life time warrantee on the batteries, 2 years from the date of manufacture (can be located horizontally just above the seam). I would recommend looking at our new packages which are the 2300 power plus, it will call it out right on the packaging. I do apologize for this inconvenience.

Thank you for this great question, I would be happy to assist you. There could be so many reasons why this is happening, I would like to get the model number of charger you are using and the MAH capacity of the batter as well, sometimes it could be a charger issues vs. a battery issue. I would recommend calling our consumer affairs office so we may gather a bit more information on this product to better assist you.

Thank you for this great question, I would be happy to assist you. Regarding the CHVCM charger, you have to charge the batteries in pairs, so only 2 or 4 can be charged. I do apologize for this inconvenience. Energizer does offer a charger that will do 1 to 4 batteries, it is the CH15MN2, and you can find this on our website I have provided the link for you below.

Thank you for this great question, I would be happy to assist you. Our chargers are designed to charge up to 2500 Mah batteries, however Energizer no longer manufactures the 2500 Mah batteries. If these are the Energizer 2500 Mah NIMH batteries they will be old and may not hold their charge, you can determine the age by looking at the date of manufacture on the horizontal side of the battery (by the seam).

Question

Purchased Charger

I am trying out the batteries for the first time we put them in the charger and the light is red. Ok so I take it this means that these batteries are not useable right out of the package. The light is a solid red meaning that it should be charging the batteries. Will know something by 9 am or sooner. If you put the batteries in the charger when they first come out of the package and the charger is green. The batteries can be used immediately. So what I understand is that the seller of this product are uncertain as to when the batteries can be used, however, the charger itself will let the customer know if the batteries can be used right out of the package or not. Red means no, and green means yes. Testing the charging of the batteries now.

Thank you for this great question, I would be happy to assist you. Regarding our NIMH rechargeable batteries, none of them are ready right out of the pack. The newer ones do have a "pre-charge" to them but only about 60%, but we do ask to charge them up before use. We do have different models of this charger typically red means they are charging and green means it is done charging, I would like to get a bit more information on this charger so I can better answer your questions. I would recommend calling our consumer affairs office to get this information.

Question

Why doesn't it appear like my charger works?

My daughter bought her little brother and sister the charger that came with 4 AA batteries and a pack of 8 AA batteries to keep for back up. The kids use them in their Wii. Out of the package, the four that came with the charger worked fine. The pack of 8 had 4 batteries that were dead even though the package said comes precharged. Anyway, the kids killed four of the batteries so I put them in the charger. After 7 hours, the light is still red and two of the batteries are really warm and the other two are cold. With the Energizer name, I thought this would be a great product but now I am wondering if it is.....

Question

My Energizer value charger says it has an 'auto shutoff', but when the batteries are charged and the light is green, it just stays that way...

How do I know if the auto shutoff is working, and is it ok to leave the unit plugged in with the batteries available to use when I need them? Or should I unplug it, and only put it into use while there are batteries that need charging? Will it hurt the unit or batteries to leave it always plugged in? Thank you!

Thank you for this great question, I would be happy to assist you. When it comes to this charger, you want to see how long it takes to charge with the MAH number of the battery. If the charger is not shutting off for you at the proper time frame, then I would recommend contacting our consumer affairs office so we can assist you under the terms of our guarantee, 1-800-383-7323. We do not recommend leaving the charger plugged into the wall outlet after the charge; the charger is not designed for a storage unit for the batteries. Always unplug the unit from the wall after every charge and remove the batteries.

Thank you for this great question, I would be happy to assist you. Regarding the 1300 mah batteries, it does have a lot to do with the type of charger you’re using. If you are using a different brand of charger, I would recommend contacting the manufacture of the charger to see how long it takes to charge.
