Thank you for this great question, I would be happy to assist you. If you are noticing a flashing light on your charger there could be many things. Please see if the following apply.

Charging different MAH numbers in charger
Charging different brands at the same time
Charging NICD batteries vs. NIMH
Old batteries (over two years old)
Dirty contacts (easy clean, take pencil eraser to contacts in charger, top and bottom)

If you still have issues with the flashing light please contact our consumer affairs for further assistance.

Thank you for your great question! When the red lights are blinking it usually means that there is a bad cell in the charger, meaning the batteries aren’t receiving a charge. When we see this we recommend to get a new set of rechargeable batteries. Hope this helps. If you have any additional questions, let us know here or give us a call at 1.800.383.7323.

It is normal for the batteries to become hot during the charging process. Faster chargers will generate more heat than those that charge more slowly. Check out our frequently asked questions for more information about rechargeable batteries: http://data.energizer.com/PDFs/Rech...

Question

Why is the LED on the charger flashing red and green.

Just bought your Accu-Energizer-Rechargeable-Portable-Kit with 2 AA- and 2 AAA-Accus and a portable charging-kit with 2 'Pods' and 1 docking-station (CHPC-ADP?).

I tested the batteries, there was no power in them. So i set up the charger, all accus in 1 Pod. Immediately the LED blinked red AND green, which confused me, since the normal mode i'm used to is a constantly lit red LED while charging.

Manual doesn't comment.
Is everything ok, and that's the way the Pods charge?

Question

How am I supposed to charge 3 batteries at a time?

I have the CHDC8 charger and in the instructions it tells you how to properly place the batteries in the charger in order for it to charge properly. In the diagram, it shows it charging 2 or 4 batteries at a time. This device that I have that utilizes batteries, takes 3 at a time. So when I go to recharge the 3 batteries, the lights only indicate that 2 are charging. Is there a way to charge 3 batteries at a time?

Question

What do the red and green lights mean on my Energizer CH15MN charger?

I need the light codes for an older Energizer AA/AAA charger for NIMH. This has 4 spots for batteries, and is corded rather than having prongs for plugging into the outlet.
Also, can it charge individual batteries, or does it require 4 (or 2) at a time. There is only one indicator light in the center. I don't see this model on the website.

Thank you for your great question. This charge can charge individual batteries. After putting the batteries in the charger plug it in and the indicator light should turn solid red indicating the batteries are charging. When the indicator light turns green the batteries are charged and ready for use. If the indicator light were to ever blink red it means there is a bad cell in the charger and you may want to check to make sure the batteries are in correctly as well as clean the contacts of the batteries and the charger off. Hope this helps. Any additional questions, let us know here or give us a call at 1.800.383.7323.

Thank you for this great question, I would be happy to assist you. When it comes to our NIMH rechargeable batteries, they do NOT need to be discharged before charging them up again. Our batteries do not contain memory, so they can be charged over several times whether or not they are empty or half charged.

Great question! Pre-charged batteries have a NiMH low self discharge chemistry. All NiMH batteries will self discharge over time, but the low self discharge batteries slow this shelf loss significantly. After a year of storage, pre-charged NiMH batteries will maintain approximately 80% of their original charge prior to packaging. The pre-charge prior to packaging is 50% to 75% of the rated battery capacity.
